About
this practice
A practice was established by William H. McMicken, M.D. in 1967, shortly after his departure from U. S. Navy service and additional training in Internal Medicine. Dr. McMicken does both Primary Care and hospital practice.
The initial solo practice in 1967 became associated with Andrew Sokalchuk, M.D. in 1968, and Dr. McMicken and Dr. Sokalchuk practiced together until 1977. At that time, Dr. McMicken again became solo until 1999.
In September 1999 the Chiropractic Practice of Todd Teller, D.C., and Craig Biddle, D.C. and the Internal Medicine practice of William H. McMicken, M.D. merged. A new multidisciplinary practice of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) was formed. At its peak, this combined practice included two chiropractors, two internists, a general surgeon and a podiatrist.
In September 2002 the combined practice was dissolved and Dr. McMicken again became a solo practitioner.
Early in 2007 Dr. McMicken associated on a part-time basis with the practice of Dr. Brian Carnival, an internist who has similar views as Dr. McMicken in regard to practice "style" and personalized "family doctor" medical care. Dr. McMicken closed his own practice and joined Dr. Carnavil on a full time basis on November 1, 2007. This practice is a "retainer practice", sometimes referred to as "boutique" or "concierge" medicine. The practice limits acceptance to a maximum of 300 patients by each doctor, and does not accept payment from third party insurance companies. Payment of a fixed fee directly from the patient covers all practice related services. The practice delivers enhanced, up-to-date modern services in the "Old Time Medical Practice" tradition. To understand more completely the variety of flexible service plans available, please visit the present practice web site at www.newoldtimemedicine.com.
The practice is located as of May 21, 2010 at 419 North York Road, Hatboro, Pennsylvania. For further information about this practice please speak to Karen at 215-675-2443.
