July 1965 - June 1966: House Physician, Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine, Lower Bucks Hospital, Bristol, Pennsylvania.

July 1966 - June 1967: Additional Residency Training, Internal Medicine, Nazareth Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

July 1967 - June 1968: Private practice, Internal Medicine, at 3477 St. Vincent Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with staff privileges at Nazareth Hospital. Also employed during this time as Staff Physician, Philadelphia State Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with assignment to the Tuberculosis Service.

June 1968 - November 1977: Private practice, Internal Medicine, in association with Andrew Sokalchuk, M.D., at 11410 Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Additional staff privileges obtained at Holy Redeemer Hospital, Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania.

November 1977 - August 1999: Solo Private Practice, Internal Medicine, at Suite 105, Holy Redeemer Medical Office Building, 1650 Huntingdon Pike, Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania. Staff privileges at Holy Redeemer Hospital and Nazareth Hospital. The practice combined office based primary care and hospital medicine. The practice was initially computerized in 1980, and a more complete computerization was accomplished in 1985, and upgraded in 1995, 1999, and 2002.

September 1999 - September 2002: Private Practice, Internal Medicine, at Suite 322, 2600 Philmont Avenue, Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania in association with Valley Family Health Care. Staff privileges at Holy Redeemer Hospital and Nazareth Hospital are maintained. The practice now emphasizes total wellness, integrating alternate medicine with traditional allopathic medicine. The current location allows expanded treatment of musculoskeletal disorders and personal injury. Physical therapy regimens available in the practice can include hydrotherapy, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, traction and therapeutic massage. Valley Family Health Care is associated with Teller Chiropractic, Inc. and includes Todd Teller, D.C., Craig Biddle, D.C. and Kevin O'Melia, D.C. Dana Kerner, D.O is associated in Internal Medicine, and Troy Kerner, D.O. in Surgery. This practice is a participant in Medicare, Blue Shield, Intercounty, U. S. HealthCare, Keystone Health Plan East, and other insurance plans.

September 2002 - September 2007: Solo Private Practice, Internal Medicine, at Suite 323 at 2600 Philmont Avenue, Huntingdon Valley, PA. All hospital staff privileges remain the same, and the practice continued to give personalized medical care in the "family doctor" tradition.

September 1, 2007: Dr. McMicken joined the practice of Brian Carnavil, D.O., P.C. This is a retainer practice of Internal Medicine and Primary Care that does not participate with any third party insurance company. Payment is received directly from the patient. Married in 1974, two children, a daughter born in 1975 and a son in 1977.
